Clooney Tunes Updated Prelims

Added the false back wall and the doors from White Christmas as the back of the studio. Foreshadowing the reveal of the snowscape.
Also playing with masking options, no colour on these yet, but something that can change colour from song to song through the magic of lighting would be ideal I think.

Also please note the smaller door upstage centre for entrances.
Added dimension to the gate structure, it is drawn at 1 1/2" to be built from 2X2 but could be 1" box steel.
From above in 3D:
To be clear, only the centre platforms move. the band is split on the rear two, and do not move.

Clooney Tunes Prelims

Basic set concept for your consideration:
[Click for a larger image]
Band split onto raised stationary upstage left and right platforms.

Upstage I am thinking neutral drapes for lighting in different colour washes. they will cover a false studio back wall with large doors, that open to reveal Vermont in December.

Centre platform is actually two truck units that can be split into different configurations for different songs.
Arches are steel frames that can be lit or silhouetted as needed.

Plan view:

Possible riser configurations 1:
A. complete,  B. Moved downstage to allow entrances each side,  C. Split for centre aisle

Possible riser configurations 2:
D. Parted to maximum width,  E. Inverted aisle,  F. Reversed to act as the prow of a ship.

I missed it...

I really missed that one piece of trim so I put it back, and moved it up a bit. Now I am finally happy! You like?

New set in context, plus the pool house units, really just the backs of the Man's apartment.
I found these really tough!

Partly because they cannot have any depth to them to fit where they need to for the bulk of the show.
The doors are practical and will open onstage like french doors, also bear in mind that they are reversed from the original positions.

So right is left and left is right.
Right?

Confused? call me to discuss!

Railings

Railings and a simpler trim. Less is more?
Railings are welded steel 1" box tube. no actual curves.

Some updates and a few new things...

Cut out 2 dimensional shadow flat measuring approx. 12'X12' for the top of act II:
seen only in silhouette through the red drape.

Beds, actually one bed with different accessories:
We need to discuss colour for these and the bed spreads

Updated Prelims

Not much different, added some masking flats and columns, oh and the plane.

We can photoshop in the weather and the time of day. I am hoping it can be daytime, night would mean the entire back wall will act as a giant fun house mirror. Very unattractive...
